QUALIFICATIONS

• Live in Southern California (LA, San Bernardio, Riverside, Orange, or Ventura Counties) or SF Bay Area

• Be prepared to be away from home, live in rural settings, and/or travel long distances for extended periods of time
• Have or working towards a CA Driver's License / reliable form of transportation
• Have or working towards stable housing
• No arson / sex crime convictions

REQUIREMENTS

• By July 1: complete online assessment form, resume & application @ forestryfirerp.org/get-involved
• Thru July 31: Attend Mandatory Monthly Orientation & info Sessions: 2nd Tuesday of the month from 6-7pm
• Aug 5 - Oct 28: Attend one weekly in-class or in-field activity (8am-4:30pm) every Friday + one weekly virtual check in with case manager
• Oct 31 - Apr 7: 32-40 hrs/week (M-F) Participation in training cohort
• Participation in physical training to carry 45 lbs for 45 min for 3 miles

WHAT WE PROVIDE

• $140/week stipend for participation in 5 Aug-Oct 28 program
• $560/week stipend for participation in Oct 31-April 7 training cohort
• Preparation for Full Time / Seasonal Positions
• Expungement assistance upon request
• Case management support & referrals, including email communications about training & job opportunities
